David Tyndall

David Tyndall first performerd with Chunky Move in May 1998. He was a Director of the Company from 1999 to 2001 and has worked as Rehearsal Director and Company Coordinator since September 2001.

David has a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) from the University of Melbourne's Victorian College of the Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Arts Management from the University of South Australia.

He has worked as a performer with the Douglas Wright Dance Company (NZ), Sue Healey and Company, Phillip Adams, Garry Stewart, Mathew Bergan, Sandra Parker, Lucy Guerin Company and Chunky Move, on stage, television and in film. At the Victorian College of the Arts he was awarded a Boston Youth Scholarship to attend the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Mass. USA in 1994. He won the 1998 Green Room Award for Best Performance by a Male Dancer for Chunky Move’s Bonehead, and Best Ensemble Performance for Lucy Guerin’s Heavy.

From November to December 2002 David was given an emerging manager and producers grant from the Australia Council to take a secondment place in the Programming department at Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay, Singapore.

He is currently a Mentor for a young tertiary dance student through The Smith Family Learning For Life program.
