Luke Smiles - Composer and Sound Design

The introduction of a Commodore 64 computer into the family home in the early 1980’s began Luke’s fascination with computers and music. His background as a dancer has enabled him to collaborate with choreographers through a shared understanding of each other’s discipline. Working under his business name motion laboratories luke has composed and produced soundtracks for many australian and international artists and companies such as: Australian Dance Theatre, Chunky Move, Dancenorth, Gabrielle Nankivell, Splintergroup, Stompin, Tasdance, West Australian Ballet and Windmill Theatre Company. Luke’s collaborative commitment to Chunky Move has resulted in the creation and performance of soundtracks for Corrupted 2, All The Better To Eat You With, Live Acts, Wanted, GLOW and Mix Tape.
