Delia Silvan
Delia Silvan has worked with many of Australia's leading contemporary dance companies including The Australian Dance Theatre, Lucy Guerin Inc., Danceworks, Chunky Move and Leigh Warren and Dancers - of which she was a founding member.
Some highlights for her include acting and dancing roles in Paul Cox's feature film The Diaries of Vaslav Nijinsky, tutoring by Sabine Kupferberg and Jiri Kylian of Nederlands Dans Theatre in his solo work Silent Cries - for which Delia won an Australian Dance Award, and Leigh Warren and Dancer's company residence with the Frankfurt Ballet in 2001.
In 2002 Delia presented her full length work Night Vision at The Australian Festival In Seoul. She choreographed and performed Running Not Looking as part of Dancehouse's We Like Short Shorts season in 2007. Most recently she collaborated with choreographer Neil Adams to create a new solo work Paper On Water for the 2008 Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Significant performances over the past five years include Lucy Guerin's solo work Firebird with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Dancework's Murray-Anderson Road, , "Ophelia" in Paul Cox's film The Human Touch, Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda by Lucy Guerin for Opera Australia, I Want to Dance Better at Parties with Chunky Move, and Neil Adams' Incarna.
